WELCOME TO THE GATEWAY TO SOUTHWEST, GA!
The Southwest Georgia Regional Airport, owned by the City of Albany, is a non-hub commercial service airport supporting approximately 40,000 annual operations. It is home to 35 based aircraft and is served by one scheduled airline—Delta Connection—which operates three daily flights to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport using 75-seat regional jets.
United Parcel Service (UPS) maintains a significant presence on the airfield, with an on-site air cargo sort facility that serves Southwest Georgia, Southeastern Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle. UPS operates Airbus A300-600 aircraft at this location.
The airport serves the five-county Albany Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), which had a population of 157,833 according to the 2000 U.S. Census. Renowned as the Quail Hunting Capital of the World, Southwest Georgia attracts private jets from across the country during hunting season (November through February), generating a notable economic impact.
Additionally, the airport supports thousands of military operations annually, playing a key role in maintaining the readiness of U.S. military pilots from around the country.
