Complete Count Committee Created for Census 2020
Albany, GA (September 10, 2019) – The City of Albany, in conjunction with Dougherty County, has created a local Complete Count Committee for the purpose of ensuring an accurate 2020 US Census count.
The Complete Count Committee is made up of local citizens who represent a cross-section of the community. They will utilize their local knowledge to create strategies that educate citizens on the importance of the US Census and encourage everyone to be counted.
Paul Forgey, Director of Planning & Development, expressed, “It is essential that the committee is diverse and represents the community. We need people to know it is important to collect this information because this is how federal and state governments distribute grants to cities and counties. Population figures are used to draw district boundaries for elections.”
