Post Date:02/12/2019 11:52 AM

Albany, GA (February 12, 2019)- During rehabilitation work on the East Side Interceptor Sewer, Gulf Coast Underground field crews noticed water seeping out of the canal bank near the interceptor sewer crossing.

GCU crews worked quickly to identify and stop the leak which originated from an old sewer main which was abandoned and plugged at a manhole located along the interceptor sewer.

Statement from GCU Eastside-Westside Project Manager, Paul Kleinschrodt:

“Our company mission is to find and fix sanitary sewer problems and we are pleased with all efforts from the team of City Engineering staff and Gulf Coast Underground staff who worked together quickly to locate, uncover, and correct the pre-existing issue to effectively eliminate the risk for future Sanitary Sewer Overflows at this location.”
